Takeaway That Doesn't Compromise on Quality
Shouldn’t takeaway food taste just as good at home as it does in the restaurant? To achieve that, your need should be cooked fresh when you order. And the right packaging counts as well - afterall, you don’t want leaks or your food getting cold.
We've been doing takeaway ever since we opened, so we get the details right. Our online ordering system is simple to use and quick to place your order.
Order now and your order will be ready in 15-30 minutes. We offer great family deals for when you're feeding multiple people, quick lunch service for when you've only got 20 minutes. And yeah, delivery to West Ryde and surrounding suburbs - with 5km of our venue.
We also offer our full restaurant menu - all the curries, biryanis, tandoori dishes, fresh naan, appetizers, the lot. Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, whatever you need. Because takeaway shouldn't mean settling for a limited menu or compromised quality. It's the same food we're serving in the restaurant, just packed to travel.

Your Indian Takeaway Options Explained
People these days are ordering takeaway more and more - just because it is so convenient. But there's a difference between places that adapt their food properly for takeaway and places that just shove restaurant food in containers and hope for the best. We've thought through the packaging, timing, which dishes travel well, how to keep naan soft, all that stuff that matters when you're eating at home instead of at a table.
Online Ordering System
The best way to order is via our website - https://newyatra.com.au - not through third-party apps with their massive fees. You see the full menu, customise however you want (mild, medium, extra spicy, no onions, whatever), pay securely, and get confirmation with pickup or delivery time.
Our interface is straightforward. Browse by category (appetisers, curries, biryani, breads, drinks), click what you want, adjust quantities, add to cart. Each dish shows descriptions and dietary markers (GF, vegetarian, vegan options). Special instructions? There's a box for that. Want extra raita or skip the coriander? Just mention it.
Payment goes through secure processing - card details are fully encrypted. Once you've ordered, you get confirmation email with timing.
Regulars like that you can save favourite orders. If you're getting the same thing every Friday night, just reorder with two clicks instead of building your cart from scratch. It’s a small thing but saves you time.
No third-party commission means we can keep prices reasonable and you're not paying extra for convenience.
Phone Orders for Quick Collection
Sometimes you just want to ring, place your order, drive over and collect. That's fine - We’re prefer you order online because it’s so easy for you and allows us to focus 100% on your food preparation. However, you can place a phone order by calling (02) 9858 4489.
Phone ordering works well when you're already nearby or know exactly what you want without browsing. "Yeah, butter chicken, lamb korma, garlic naan, two rice" - done in 30 seconds, ready when you arrive. Pay on collection, card or cash, whichever suits you.
Curbside pickup is fine if you want to wait in your car - just call when you arrive and we'll bring it out. Useful when you've got kids in the car or can't be bothered finding parking on Victoria Road.
Takeaway Packaging That Doesn't Leak or Disappoint
Packaging matters more than people think. Rubbish containers mean curry leaking all over your car seat, rice getting mushy from condensation, naan arriving as a soggy mess. We've tested different containers till we found what actually works.
Curries go in proper leak-proof containers with secure lids. Not the flimsy ones that pop open if you look at them wrong - actual quality containers that seal properly. Different sizes depending on what you've ordered so you're not getting a tiny curry in a massive container or vice versa.
Biryani needs different packaging than plain rice because of the layering and garnish - we've got specific containers that maintain that.
Naan and bread? Wrapped while still hot so they stay soft but not wrapped so tight they get soggy from their own steam. It's a fine line and we've figured it out. By the time you get home and open them, they're still soft enough to tear and use for scooping curry.
Everything is packed in sturdy bags with handles that won't rip. Hot items separated from cold items (raita, salad). Utensils, napkins, sauces all included unless you're a regular and we know you don't want them.
Eco-friendly packaging where practical - we're not using styrofoam or excessive plastic. Trying to balance functionality with environmental responsibility, which isn't always easy but we're getting there.
Family Takeaway Deals That Make Sense
Feeding a family from a restaurant menu can add up fast when everyone's ordering individually. We've put together combo deals specifically for families and groups that give you better value while covering different preferences.
Our Two Curry Combo is very popular - samosas to start, chicken curry, lamb curry, rice, naan, feeds a couple of adults easily or family with younger kids. You're getting variety (two different curries) without ordering everything separately. Mix and match works too - swap chicken for vegetarian if that suits your family better.
Family bundles scale up from there. Larger groups might want three or four curries, more rice, extra naan, maybe biryani instead of plain rice. We can work out combos for 4-6 people or 6-8 people depending on appetites and what you fancy.
Value packs aren't about cheap food - same quality as ordering individually, just bundled sensibly so you're not paying full price for everything. It makes financial sense and simplifies ordering when you're trying to coordinate multiple people's preferences.
Full Takeaway Menu, Not a Limited Selection
Some places do a "takeaway menu" which is code for "half our actual menu because we can't be bothered packaging everything properly." That's not us. Full restaurant menu's available for takeaway - if we're serving it in the restaurant, you can get it as takeaway.
All the curries - butter chicken, rogan josh, vindaloo, korma, Chef's specials, goat curries, everything. Biryanis across chicken, lamb, goat, vegetable, fish, prawn. Tandoori dishes including whole tandoori chicken (we'll cut it for you so it's easier to serve at home). Fresh naan and bread made when you order, not pre-made earlier.
Appetisers travel surprisingly well. Samosas, pakoras, chicken 65, onion bhaji - still crispy when packaged properly. Popular starters when you're having people over and want something to snack on before mains.
Sides like dal, raita, extra rice, various chutneys, all available. Desserts too - gulab jamun, kulfi, whatever you fancy to finish the meal. Even drinks if you want lassi or Indian tea to go with it.
We also offer an extensive vegetarian menu. As well as gluten-free dishes matching our dine in offerings.. Vegan adaptations we do for dine-in, we'll do for takeaway. Dietary requirements don't change just because you're eating at home instead of here.
Only real limitation is timing - some dishes take longer to prepare, so ordering whole tandoori chicken or certain specials might add 10 minutes to your wait. But it's all available.
Quick Lunch Takeaway for Busy Workers
Wednesday through Sunday we run express lunch takeaway specifically for people on tight schedules. Office workers, tradies, anyone who's got 20-30 minutes max for lunch and needs something better than a sad sandwich from the servo.
Lunch specials and combos are designed for quick preparation - curry with rice and naan, ready in 10-15 minutes usually. Not because we're rushing or cutting corners, but because we've streamlined the most popular combinations and can prep them efficiently.
Order online beforehand if you're really time-poor. Place your order at 12:15pm, arrive at 12:30pm, in and out in two minutes. Gets you back to work with time to actually eat instead of spending your whole break waiting.
Location on Victoria Road makes collection convenient whether you're coming from Ryde or from the Parramatta area or surrounding suburbs. We’re not hidden down some side street requiring ten-minute detours - straight on the main road, easy parking or quick stop.
Lunch takeaway pricing is reasonable too. We're not charging the same as dinner service - lunch specials are structured to be affordable for regular weekly ordering.
Our takeaway food is popular with the local office crowd who've made it their regular Tuesday or Thursday thing. That reliability - knowing you can get decent Indian food quickly without fuss.
Home Delivery to West Ryde and Surrounds
Delivery service covers West Ryde and surrounding suburbs - can't make it in to collect? We'll bring it to you. Seven days a week, both lunch and dinner service, minimum order applies (keeps delivery economically viable for both of us).
Real-time tracking shows where your order is once it's out for delivery. Not perfect to the minute like Uber Eats tracking, but you'll know roughly when to expect it. Usually pretty accurate.
Contactless delivery is available if that's your preference - driver leaves food at your door, steps back, you collect. Or normal hand-to-hand delivery, whichever you're comfortable with.
Delivery areas include West Ryde obviously, plus Meadowbank, Rhodes, Denistone, Eastwood, Ermington, Rydalmere, North Ryde, Macquarie Park, Ryde, Epping, Eastwood, Denistone, Ermington, West Ryde, Meadowbank, Denistone East, Dundas, Rhodes, Telopea, Rosehill, Marsfield, Carlingford, Silverwater, North Epping, Macquarie Park, Wentworth Point surrounding suburbs within reasonable radius. If you're unsure whether we deliver to your address, chuck it in the online ordering system and it'll tell you, or just ring and ask.
Why Choose New Yatra for Indian Takeaway
Takeaway quality varies wildly between places. Some restaurants adapt their food properly for takeaway - proper packaging, correct timing, dishes that travel well. Others just chuck restaurant food in containers and cross their fingers.
We've put actual thought into this. Packaging tested till we found what works. Online ordering system that's genuinely user-friendly, not clunky and frustrating. Phone ordering with staff who know the menu and can make suggestions. Family deals structured to provide value without compromising on food.
Same kitchen, same Chef Hari, same ingredients whether you're dining in or taking away. We're not running separate operations or accepting lower standards because "it's just takeaway." Your butter chicken at home should taste like your butter chicken in the restaurant. That's the baseline.
Additionally, our location on Victoria Road makes collection convenient. Delivery covers reasonable radius around West Ryde. Express lunch service for time-poor workers. Full menu available, not limited selection. Basically we've tried to remove the usual frustrations people have with takeaway while maintaining food quality.
